Official jump day started off as most days,....with a complete change in our schedule. We now needed to leave an hr earlier then they told us the night before. Ride to the bridge to find out they hadn't removed the cables yet. So instead of starting jumping at 10am we didn't start until 3pm, which meant only one jump.
Bert and I went off with most of the jumpers still on top watching us. Later most said they were more nervous watching our jump then on their own. My jump didn't go according to plan, but I came out unscathed, and the chair survived mostly intact.
The crowd was AWESOME!!! After all the jumpers were off and landed, we were mobbed. Everyone wanted to take a picture with the jumpers and it took us quite awhile to get out of the landing area.
Another magnificent item checked off the list!!!
Lonnie BASE jumping as a paraplegic in Kjerag, Norway. Yet another FIRST in 2010... and he went back for more the year after!!! Looks like BASE jumping runs deep in Lonnie's spirit! Nothing, not even a spinal cord injury will stop this champ from soaring.
