Practice day started off with a 40min bus ride to the bottom of the bridge for the opening ceremonies, which included several officials, dancing drummers, and a duel high wire walking act. The ride out though took over 3 1/2hrs! This changed our 2hr prep time to 10mins. After rushing back to the top of the bridge the high wire and all the support cables were still up, which made it impossible to jump safely. So tomorrow it's GAME ON, during live broadcast, with no practice!
Today was a long day of travelling again. We left the hotel at 9:30am to go to the airport. After several hrs there, we boarded for our 2hr flight to the province of Hunan. From there it was another 3hr bus ride to the hotel. We were treated to a buffet dinner, the quickly herded into the ballroom for a press conference that lasted several hrs as well. I just got back to my room and am totally spent for the day.7am wake up for a quick Breaky then off to the opening ceremonies until about 11. Then back here for lunch, after which we will go back to the bridge for our practice jumps.
Good thing I have all the supplements to help keep me healthy because today was a tough one, and I'm pretty sore.
Flying out of Toronto this afternoon. Excited to be participating in the first Aizhai Bridge International BASE jump Festival this weekend!
